Overview:

The following instructions will assist with your configuration of Outlook 98 for your internet domain email.  Please note that Allstream does not offer support for previous versions of Outlook.  We recommend upgrading to Microsoft Outlook 98 for maximum satisfaction.

1. Start Outlook 98 and from the toolbar click Tools - Services.

   

2. Under the Services tab, click the Add button to add a new service.

   

3. Click Internet E-mail and click OK.

   

4. Under the General tab, enter the information requested on the screen. Please use the adjacent image for example purposes only.

   

5. Next click the Servers tab and enter the names of the Outgoing and Incoming mail servers:
   • Outgoing Mail:  mail.yourdomain.com
   • Incoming Mail:  mail.yourdomain.com
   • Enter your Allstream username as the Incoming Mail Server Account name.
   • Enter your Allstream password as the password.

   

6. Next click the Connection tab and choose the connection method. Choose Connect using my phone line. Ensure that Allstream is selected in the Modem Connection box.

   Click OK  to save the changes.  
   Click OK again to return to the main Outlook screen.
   

   

How to Configure Multiple Email Addresses

If you would like to set up Outlook 98 for multiple email addresses, just repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 with the new information for each mailbox.
