Why do I need Eudora?
- Eudora is a good program that is useful for sending messages,
receiving messages, and transferring files to other internet
users.
How do I use Eudora?
- In Eudora from the Tools Menu select Options and then follow the
steps below to set Eudora up for sending and receiving.
Category: Getting Started
- POP account - You will need to get the address of your
internet providers mail server first. Once you have the address you
will put your userID@mail server in this field. UserID being
the name you selected to use when you first signed
on. (i.e. johndoe@mail.yourcompany.com)
- Real name - This is where you put your name.
- Connection Method - This will usually be set to Winsock
because you are calling in on a PPP or SLIP connection.
The following Screen Capture gives an example of the locations where
you will enter 1. POP account, 2. Real name,
and 3. Connection Method.
Category: Personal Information
- POP account - The same POP account information from the
Getting Started section goes here.
- Real name - This is where you put your name.
- Return address - If you want the people you write to be
able to automatically reply and send you a message you can put your
address here. It should consist of your userID and the domain
name. (i.e. johndoe@yourcompany.com)
The following Screen Capture gives an example of the locations where
you will enter 1. POP account, 2. Real name,
and 3. Return address.
Category: Hosts
- POP account - The same POP account information from the
other areas goes here.
- SMTP - This is needed if you want to send mail. You need
to get the SMTP address from your Internet Service Provider (not your
Domain Hosting Provider). The SMTP address is usally just your domain
name.
