How do I set up Netscape Communicator 4.5 and 4.7 to retrieve my Domain Email?

Netscape 4.5/4.7 has included an email program that you can configure to send and receive email messages for your Domain Email account. If you currently have Netscape 4.5/4.7 on your computer and you would like to use the email program to send and receive email messages follow the instructions below:

  1. In Netscape, under the "Edit" menu, select "Preferences".
  2. In "Preferences" open the submenu for "Mail & Newsgroups" and select "Identity".

    Fill in the following information:
    • Your name: Your full name (optional)
    • Email address: your email address
    • Reply-to address: your reply to email address
    • Organization: your company name (optional)
    • Signature File (optional)
  3. Select "Mail Servers" under "Mail & Newsgroups".

    Fill in the outgoing mail server.
    • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: mail.yourdomain.com
  4. Click on the "Add" button to access the "Mail Server Properties" window.

    Fill in these fields:
    • Server Name: mail.yourdomain.com
    • Server Type: POP3 Server
    • User Name: your username (the portion before the @ of your email address)
    Once the information provided, click on the button "OK".

    And click on the button "OK" again to finish the configuration.
  5. You can check for mail by clicking on the mail button

    in the lower right corner of your Netscape window.
