Centrex Service

Your Centrex service alleviates the burden of investing in costly and complex equipment, as all aspects of this service are monitored and managed by Allstream. With its wide selection of features, your Centrex service is sure to increase your communications effectiveness with your employees, customers and suppliers.

Features Available on Your Centrex Service

Direct Inward Dialing (DID) - External callers can reach anyone in your company directly, without channeling through an operator.

4-Digit Internal Dialing - If you have six lines or more, reach others within your organization simply by dialing the last four digits of their number followed by the # sign.

Call Forward *72, *73 - Forward all incoming calls to another number by pressing *72 and then dialing the number the calls are to be forwarded to. *73 deactivates the service.

Call Hold *79 - Place a call on hold for any length of time.

Call Transfer - Transfer a call to another number internally or externally. Once the connection is made, you can either stay on the line and conduct a three-way conversation or hang up, allowing the other two parties to continue talking.

ID Block *67 - Block your name and/or number from being displayed to the person you are calling by pressing *67 before dialing.

Call Restriction - Impose specific restrictions on outgoing calls. For example, courtesy phones found in doctors' offices or company lobbies won't connect a long-distance call because they are restricted to local calls only.

Emergency and Assistance Numbers - Access emergency or assistance numbers such as Directory Assistance (411); Repair and Maintenance (611); Message Relay Service for the hearing impaired (711); and Police, Fire and Ambulance Emergency (911); as well as Operator Assistance (0).

Directory Assistance and Operator Services are chargeable per use. Emergency (911) and Message Relay Service (711) are flat rate per month. Access to Repair and Maintenance is free.
