ISDN PRI Service

ISDN PRI enables the simultaneous high-speed transmission of both voice and data, making it ideal for various applications.

Features Available on Your ISDN PRI Service *

Configuration Flexibility - You have choice in managing how calls flow to and from your organization. Allstream can do it for you by using sophisticated routing tools, such as Virtual Groups and Call Throttling. Or you can take ownership and allow Allstream to simply flow calls through without any specific routing instructions.

Release Line Trunking - When you transfer an outside call to an outside number, typically, two B channels are used even after you hang up. With Release Line Trunking, when you transfer a call, the PRI enables your equipment to release the B channels and transfer responsibility for maintaining a connection to Allstream, freeing up resources (B channels) on your PBX.

Tie Trunks - Connect two or more branches in the same city without incurring tie trunk mileage charges and, in some cases, long distance charges.

Direct Inward Dialing (DID) - External callers can reach anyone in your company directly, without channeling through an operator.

Reserved DID Numbers - Reserve a block of DID numbers for future use, helping to ensure consistency within your numbering structure.

Call Display - See in advance the name and number of the incoming call. Your equipment must be capable of reading and displaying the name and number information it receives.

Overflow - Ensures that calls will not be dropped if a busy signal is detected. Instead, they are routed to another local access of your choice. Calls can be re-directed to another Allstream local service including voicemail.

Trunk Sequence Selection - Select trunk members in Ascending/Descending Sequential, Most Idle/Least Idle or Clockwise Circular Trunk/Counterclockwise Circular Trunk hunting. Your equipment determines the method.

Back up D Channel - The D channel controls the signalling between Allstream's switch and your equipment for all call set-ups. A back up D channel can be provisioned on an ISDN PRI system of two T-1s or more to ensure service continuity should the controlling D channel fail.

Emergency and Assistance Numbers - Access emergency or assistance numbers such as Directory Assistance (411); Repair and Maintenance (611); Message Relay Service for the hearing impaired (711); and Police, Fire and Ambulance Emergency (911); as well as Operator Assistance (0).

* Feature availability varies by region. Some features are chargeable. Directory Assistance and Operator Services are chargeable per use. Emergency (911) and Message Relay Service (711) are flat rate per month. Access to Repair and Maintenance is free.
