Dial-Up Networking is located inside My Computer.

1. Open the Dial-Up Networking folder.
Look for an icon called Allstream. If you find
that icon, jump to Step 2.
|
|
If you don't find that icon, double-click on Make a New
Connection and follow the instructions below.
- Type Allstream for the name of the computer
you're dialing. Click Next.
- Type in the phone number for local dialup number you'll use.
- Leave the Country Code set to Canada. Remove
the check beside use Country Code and area code. Click Next.
- Click Finish.

2. Right-click
on the Allstream icon and select Properties. |

You'll notice that your local dialup number is at the top of
the page that opens. Verify this number! Your modem
type is also listed on this page.

3. "Server Type" is either a button or a tab in your
Dial-Up Networking program. Whichever it is, click on it.
|
|
4. Make the settings on this page match the ones below:
- Type of Dial-Up Server: PPP: Windows95...
- Advanced Options: Enable software compression.
- Allowed Network Protocols: TCP/IP only.

5. Click on TCP/IP Settings.
|
|
Change the settings here to match:
- Server assigned IP address
- Specify name server addresses
- Primary DNS: 207.181.101.4
- Secondary DNS: 207.181.101.5
|
|
Click OK all the way out.
|
|
You should now be ready to connect to Allstream
|
|
When you double click the Internet Explorer or the
Netscape
icon on your desktop, you will be presented with a Connection
window:

|
Enter your Allstream email address and your password.
Click Connect!
