About The Allstream Global Forum (AGF)
The Allstream Global Forum (AGF) is an ongoing series of unique customer events, often featuring innovative thinkers and international leaders from the world of business, government, and the not-for-profit sector. AGF events reflect our commitment to providing our customers with insight into the role of networking in achieving their business goals. Among the recent highlights in our AGF series:
- Last year, Steve Forbes, Chairman and CEO of Forbes Inc., gave a presentation at several AGF events across Canada. His topic was how companies and countries alike have historically leveraged innovation to gain competitive advantage and to create entirely new markets.
- Also in 2008, we held an AGF event that focused specifically on security-related approaches to keeping businesses secure in our increasingly virtual digital economy. Moderated by journalist Wendy Mesley, the event featured speakers such as retired undercover RCMP officer Chris Matthews and professional hacker Johnny Long.
- In 2007, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the well-known American environmentalist, addressed Allstream customers in Calgary and Toronto. He explored the complex relationship between business strategy and the environment.
- Also in 2007, former federal finance Minister and deputy prime minister of Canada, John Manley addressed financial industry executives in Toronto. In his keynote, Mr. Manley commented on the global dynamics affecting competitive realities in the Canadian financial services sector.
