By transitioning to Allstream’s fully-managed MPLS network, Green P was able to converge its internet, voice and data traffic onto one integrated system that delivers guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) levels.
The Company
The Toronto Parking Authority (Green P) is an agency of the City of Toronto responsible for providing safe, attractive, self-sustaining, conveniently located and competitively priced off-street and on-street public parking. www.greenp.com
The Challenge
During the course of its growth, Green P had set up dedicated circuits for each of its voice, video, intercom and data services—driving up both network costs and management complexity.
Outcomes
The Toronto Parking Authority (Green P) has grown considerably since its establishment in 1952, when it managed five parking lots with roughly 700 spaces. During the course of its growth, however, the organization accumulated a hodge-podge of dedicated circuits to control its disparate needs—from carbon monoxide detection and fire monitoring to running its intercom, video and telephone systems. Each of these circuits was managed by different vendors across roughly 30 of its locations, making network management and administration incredibly complex.
