Case Study: Toronto South Detention Centre implements IP telephony using a Mitel Platform with Phybridge technology
" Removed networking complications at a fair cost."
In a prison environment, both external and internal communications must be fast, direct and always available. TheToronto South Detention Centre (TSDC), a new government security facility under construction, had specific communications requirements that were best met with the most advanced telephone system available. However, while the Toronto South Detention Centres’ telephone network remains effective, it has not yet been upgraded to the IP telephony standards that provide the most reliable, efficient and flexible communications options.
Project
The Toronto South Detention Centreis a 1,650-bed maximum security facility for adult inmates, including those with special needs.
Challenge
To meet the substantial, specific government requirements for communications in a prison environment, the Toronto South Detention Centre (TSDC) needed a fail-safe telephony system for its new facility.
