Our Approach

Allstream teams support custom built, commercial off the shelf (COTS) and enterprise application components. Our application management activities fall into the following categories:

  • Corrective Maintenance (Reactive Problem Resolution), which are characterized as modifications that do not result in a change to the application specifications. This includes corrections to error states or logic causing erroneous results in an application
  • Preventive Maintenance (Proactive Problem Resolution), which involves change implementations to resolve potential problems before they affect your user community
  • Enhancements, which encompass any application modifications based on, or causing, a change to a “Use Case” or similar design document
  • Adaptive Maintenance, which involves making changes to applications to correspond with scheduled hardware or packaged software upgrades
  • Perfective Maintenance, which include opportunities to improve application performance, maintainability or comprehension identified by your Allstream support team during the course of other maintenance activities
